DONALD C.S. PILLING "DONALD"

Admitted in 1973, Donald opened the office which now practices as Widdows Pilling in January 1974 and is head of the Conveyancing and Probate Departments.

With 48 years’ experience, Donald provides a high level of service with a friendly and caring approach.

Donald specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing (and private client work). He has a wealth of experience which has ensured a substantial following which has remained loyal over a long number of years.  

Donald’s interests include golf (handicap 10), football, skiing and, as a Wiganer, supporting Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club.

ROBERT JEREMY PARKER (LLB) “JEREMY”

Admitted in 1983, Jeremy, graduated in Law from Hull University, was articled with Kuit Steinart Levy, Manchester and became a partner in Widdows Pilling in 1990.

Jeremy has been a member of The Law Society’s Family Panel (Advanced) since 1999 with independently accredited expertise in financial issues arising on divorce/separation.

His Civil litigation practice, specialises in contract land disputes and employment law. His Commercial practice extends to assets sales, property leases, commercial property sales and purchases.

With 38 years’ experience, Jeremy takes the view that all problems are soluble with thought and effort no matter how complex they may first appear. Noted for having a sympathetic yet direct manner he is highly regarded for the quality of the advice he gives and the efficient no-nonsense style in which it is delivered.

Jeremy was born in Blackpool in 1958 - the year that Bolton Wanderers last won the FA Cup and remains a committed ‘Trotter’. Jeremy’s interests include military history, cooking and walking.

CLAIRE J. PILLING (LLB) “CLAIRE”

Admitted in November 2007, Claire graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2005 and went on to complete her training contract with Widdows Pilling.

Claire has 14 years’ experience specialising in Wills and Codicils, Probates, Power of Attorney and Court of Protection applications; and also undertakes some residential conveyancing.

Claire’s sympathetic approach, with patience and calmness is to help and guide clients when they are at their most vulnerable, whilst remaining efficient and professional throughout. Claire’s reassurances build trust with Clients in dealing with the legal aspects of their situation.

Claire’s interests include playing sports especially netball, tennis, karate (red belt) and supporting Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club.

MICHAEL J KIRKHAM (LLB) “MIKE”

CAROLE A. SCOTT (LLB) ‘CAROLE’

Admitted in 2004, Carole graduated from Glasgow university in 1993. After relocating to London and completing the conversion at Oxford University, Carole worked in a prestigious London firm, progressing to Partner and later, after moving to Southend-on-Sea, nominated as the President of the Southend-on-Sea & District Law Society.

Carole specialises in Property Law including sales and purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of Equity, first registration of properties and lease extensions.

Building strong client relationships is important to Carole and she always has the clients' interests at heart. Carole is straight to the point and gets the job done and is proud her efficiency keeps clients coming back year after year. 

Even though Carole has lived abroad most of her life, she's still a Glaswegian at heart and outside of work Carole loves great food and wine, travels extensively and enjoys completing fitness challenges.
